On weekday mornings, I have the luxury of not setting an alarm, so I tend to wake up around eight on my own. I start my morning with the Today show,
a ritual I sorely miss when I wake up too late to catch it (or on the rare occasion I'm not home in the morning, like when I'm out of town). On weekends, it's about the same, aside from what I watch: Saturdays generally start with the Saturday Early Show
on CBS then Looney Tunes
on the Cartoon Network,
and Sundays start with CBS Sunday Morning
and move into the rest of the talking heads shows. Every morning, though, I do start with checking e-mail and looking at what houses are newly on the market in my target real estate areas (northwestern Virginia, Philly suburbs, and DC suburbs). I usually apply for at least one contracting project.
One of the best things about working at home is that I don't have to get ready for my day. I put on workout shorts and a t-shirt (except in the winter, when I don flannel pajama bottoms and sweatshirt), and that's about it.
On the rare occasion that I do eat breakfast out, I love pancakes and waffles and all those other traditional breakfast foods. We have a diner nearby, but recently Square Cafe opened that has fabulous breakfasty stuff on the menu. Hm...that could be a some morning soon, before we head out to Sears to buy a little freezer for my bed side (to store my water bottles and ice packs).
